Move-Out Cleaning Checklist for Fort Wayne Renters

Moving is stressful enough without worrying about your walkthrough. Whether you're a renter hoping to get your deposit back or a seller getting a home ready for the new owners, a clean handoff matters. Here's a room-by-room checklist to work from.

Before you start

• Move everything out first. Cleaning an empty home is faster and more thorough.

• Check your lease for any cleaning requirements your landlord lists.

• Take photos of each room when you're done. They're your proof of the home's condition.

Kitchen

• Clean the inside and outside of the oven and the fridge.

• Wipe out every cabinet and drawer, inside and out.

• Clean and sanitize countertops, the sink and the backsplash.

• Wipe down appliance fronts and the range hood.

• Sweep and mop the floor, including along the edges.

Bathrooms

• Scrub and disinfect the toilet, tub, shower and sink.

• Clean mirrors and fixtures.

Bedrooms and living areas

• Dust ceiling fans, light fixtures and windowsills.

Don't forget

• Light switches and outlet covers.

• Vents.
